Daniel grew up in Schreiber and left the small town in September of 2013 to pursue an undergraduate degree at Lakehead university in Thunder Bay, ON. In May of 2019 he completed his program, earning an Honours Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology. In January of 2020 he entered the Master’s of Counselling Program with Yorkville University located in Fredericton NB. During October of 2020, Daniel returned to Schreiber while completing his classes online.
Daniel is published in the peer-reviewed academic journal, Personality and Individual Differences for research involving trait perfectionism and competitiveness.
He has written an Honours thesis discussing the importance of personal strengths and their relationship with elementary school students’ classroom engagement, and school climate.
His professional interests include Positive Psychology, Strength-based approaches, Abnormal Psychology (namely anxiety disorder and the differences between male and female depressive symptoms), and Developmental Psychology.
Daniel’s personal interests include, tattoos, vehicles, astronomy, astrobiology, pacifism, renewable energies and growing fruit trees. He is the proud owner of two rescue dogs he raised since they were puppies. One Border Collie and one Great Dane.
Personality wise, he is quite introverted. So naturally he can often be found at home playing video games, playing with his dogs or cooking with the vegetables he’s grown. Regardless, once he gets to know you he has little to no issue opening up.

Christy Tashjian (she/her), CPM, NP, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing in 1994 and studied midwifery while working at home health agencies. After working as a homebirth midwife in Austin and surrounding areas for 16 years, she decided to go back to school and received a master’s degree in 2013. Christy became a Nurse Practitioner in 2014, expanding her midwifery practice into a full spectrum women’s health practice. She worked as a midwife consultant and educator with the Austin-based Mama Sana Vibrant Woman project focusing on group pregnancy care and perinatal support for low-income people of color. Christy has also worked with and supported the LGBTQ+ community in her practices, specifically in helping with fertility/conception and hormone therapy. She joined the staff of Balcones Ob/Gyn for two years in 2018 to bring her varied experience in pregnancy care and women’s health to a mainstream practice. While working as a midwife, Christy was also on the board of directors of the Midwives Alliance of North America and Human Rights in Childbirth. After residing in Austin, Texas for 29 years, Christy, her wife Jenni, and their 5 year old moved in 2020 to the far North to live on the shores of Lake Superior. Christy has spent the last two years wading through Canadian bureaucracy and recently became registered as an NP in Ontario. She spends much of her time outside, cross country skiing and marvelling at the snow in the winter, and hiking, gardening and being enamored with the Lake in the summer. Calvin Pelletier is a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. He attended Lakehead University where he studied Biochemistry, and went on to complete a BScN. Calvin continued his studies with The University of Manitoba Critical Care Program.
Calvin was employed at The Winnipeg Health Sciences Center Intensive Care Unit for several years before journeying to the north, where he would spend 10 years providing coverage to remote communities in Northern Manitoba, Northern Ontario, Nunavut, NWT and The Yukon. During this time, he acquired various Advanced Training certifications and completed the Business Management Program through McMaster University.
Calvin returned to Thunder Bay in 2008 and obtained his Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner at Lakehead University. He has since worked as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in various roles throughout the province such as chronic disease management, family medicine, wound care, palliative and end of life care. He is the former president of the Lakehead Nurse-Practitioner Led Clinic, and has held various volunteer and Board positions in the province over the past 15 years.

Dr. Justin Stachowich was born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON where he graduated from Hammarskjold High School, as well as receiving his Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at Lakehead University. Justin went on to further his education and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, Texas graduating in 2014.
Dr. Stachowich, or Dr. Stak to his friends in Thunder Bay, is also a certified Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) Provider. FDM is a treatment model in which virtually all-soft tissue injuries or musculoskeletal complaints, are viewed through one or more of the six different types of alterations to the body’s connective tissues. These alterations/concepts are then applied for soft tissue mobilization to treat soft tissue and fascial conditions. Dr. Stak has further training as a medical professional through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) focusing on diagnosis and treatment of golf injuries with the emphasis on golf posture and swing mechanics. One of Dr. Stak’s favourite things to do is spending the day at one of Thunder Bay’s golf courses.
Not only does he golf, he keeps himself active by playing a game of hockey during the cold months or hiking through our city’s beautiful nature trails. He also enjoys kicking back at the end of the day and exploring our city’s diverse food scene with his friends and family, always happy to be spending time with his loved ones.
While working in Dallas, Texas, Justin had the privilege of working with the Allen Americans, an ECHL affiliate with the San Jose Sharks. There he was able to see first hand that athletes under regular chiropractic care have a greater potential for peak performance. He participated in numerous health screenings and community functions for the implementation of health promotion and wellness strategies, and worked extensively with all degrees within the running community – 5K marathon runners, triathletes and Iron Man’s.
